Greenhouse vs Provocateur: It's On

We all know that Iron Mike Satsky and Mark Birnbaum were not the best of the friends, but a new battle is brewing between the Champ and Brian Gefter at Provocateur and Jon B., Barry Mullineaux and the Greenhouse crew. It seems that the Greenhouse team has bought the URL's for Provocateur and pointed them to the Greenhouse website. BURN! When asked for comment, a rep for Provacateur said, "This is like Payless stealing the Christian Louboutin domain name." DOUBLE BURN! Of course, Barry used to work with Satsky and Gefter at Stereo before teaming up with Jon B. at Greenhouse, and they will be going after the same clientele. But Provocateur is smack dab in the middle of the MPD, and Greenhouse is by the tunnel. Advantage: Provocateur! Maybe they should get Seven On Their Side to get their URL back. [NYP]

Oh No! Ono Comes Down!

With Provacteur on the way, it was only a matter of time before Ono dissapeared for good. A Little Birdy was enjoying this beautiful day and came across these workers "jackhammering the Ono sign to smithereens." See you later Ono, we hardly knew ya.

Quick Hits: Monday Afternoon Is Popping

Whoa! What was that? QUICK HITS! Lots of goodies to report on from around the way, so let's get to it.

• Is it officially over for the Bea? According to Page Six, the answer is a resounding Yes, with NIMBY's lined up to do everything in their power to prevent our little girl from ever re-opening. Sounds bleak, but perhaps their is some light at the back of that little dark room. A Little Birdy on the inside told DBTH recently that it may not be curtains for the Beatrice, so flame away if you want, but we hold out hope. [P6]

Provocateur: The Return of Satsky and Gefter

It's been a long time coming, but the best things come to those who wait. 18 months since Stereo closed and after months of rumors and the news that another operator was involved with the space, Iron Mike Satsky and Brian Gefter are ready to announce their latest venture, Provocateur, at the Gansevoort Hotel. A Little Birdy happened on the scene as the finishing touches were being made to the billboard, saying that Satsky himself was watching the artist at work. That's him there in the bottom right. Branding itself "The ♡ of International Nightlife", this announcement clearly signals the beginning of the end for Garden of Ono, and shows the level of commitment that New York's nightlife community has for the Meatpacking District. And they use a billboard to annouce it - how old fashioned! Coming soon!
