A Crime Filled Weekend

While some of us were enjoying ourselves this weekend, a few others were stung by the seedier side of nightlife.

Radar Online reports that a man was stabbed at Goldbar on Saturday night as nightlife hound John Mayer looked on. Apparently, a man and woman got into a fight before there was a commotion, with an onlooker reporting, "The man had been stabbed in the stomach and there was blood everywhere". At Goldbar. Never a good sign. Meanwhile, The Post reports that a trio of sexy girls has been scamming drunk men by "picking them up at high-end nightclubs and pickpocketing their wallets and phones" and taking "the men to ATMs and sidled up to them as they withdrew money, later using pinched bank cards and pilfered PIN codes to tap the victim's accounts." The women were arrested last week after robbing a drunk private equity attorney in their tinted out car. Goes to show that crime never pays.

Heard goldbar was open but wack wack wack last night even saw their DJ for the night but up on twitter for everyone to see that anyone could come down and drop his name for entry... Begging for people on VMA sunday during fashion week really???

There were only 3 parties worth being at last night... 1OAK, Avenue, & Griffin...

Goldbar is soooo worried. Thats why 2 sundays ago the whole Oak crew (Akiva, Scott, Bin) all were at Goldbar. Goldbar is still one of the best spots in the city. Jonny Lennon can take any place to the top.

so the 1oak crew went to goldbar on a sunday when both of their venues were closed? why is this a big deal?

Disconcerting something like this would happen at one of the better venues in the city. A serious shame and flies in the face of why we go out in the first place.

My point is everyone knows that its one of the best places. Shit happens at all clubs. It is unfortunate, but it doesn't dictate anything negative that takes away from Goldbar being at the top. Jonny is one of the best things in NYC night life in a long, long time.

"There were only 3 parties worth being at last night... 1OAK, Avenue, & Griffin." Considering everything that was going on last night -- including the Purple Magazine party at the Standard, the VMA party uptown -- I'd think you didn't have many options?

Anyone see the pics of Mickey Rourke doing a body shot off a 17 year old at One of a Kind?

VMA party uptown? bleh heard it was wack...

Sunday was all about the VMA's, the boom boom room had nothing to do with that...

avenue was alright. def a lot of cheese. vma parties were glossy, but to be honest, purple party at boom boom was the spot. boom boom is sick and purple is always the best party of fashion week- here and in paris.

Too much of a good thing can be bad too, you know. Incidents like this remind us to take it slow, or else, you might wind up in the hospital or a free ride to the police station ;)
