Weekend Wrap Up: Rose, Jane and Boom Boom Room
If you were following the twaffic this weekend, you would know that we were enjoying some choice nights out on the town. If not, then we suggest you decide to follow us so you can stay up to date. But here are some hangover observations from some very late nights.
Friday evening found us at The Gramercy Park Hotel for the Spin Magazine Rose Sessions featuring the Black Keys. We hadn't been to the Rose Bar in a good long while, and we found her to be in excellent shape. We settled into our table at the center of the room, sipping some delicious DeLeon cocktails and getting ready for the show. The room was silly packed with a glamorous crowd which reinforced our belief that when Rose Bar makes the effort, it is pretty hard to beat. The Keys came on around 12:30 and were outstanding (see for yourself), rocking the room with an hour plus set that had the walls shaking. We heard rumors that the party was headed to the 3rd Floor after the show, but we decided to call it a night.
Saturday at the Jane and going Boom Boom, right this way.
After a quick stop at the Shipley Hamos after-party at Macao, we made a bee line to the Jane Ballroom for our first trip back since our first evening there. After jumping the line and being led to our table in the middle of the action, we found it to be just like we left it. The room is gorgeous, the crowd is solid, and the debauchery is evident. What's lacking? The music. The playlist was out of whack, with the DJ booth cranking out a wacky mix of classics that made the Bea go crazy all those nights and some cheesed out hip hop that missed the mark. A fun takeaway came when an A-list band asked for some bottles of vodka, only to be told, "we don't serve vodka bottles, only champagne." It's refreshing to see a venue stand up for itself.
By 2:30, it was time to make our move. Half of our party made their way to Avenue, while decided it was time to check out the Boom Boom Room. Wow. But rather than cram it in here, why don't we pop this into its own space and give it the proper Evening At treatment it deserves.

is it me or is DBTH starting to sound more and more like Guest of a Guest????
The 'table in the center of the room', and general tone of the post, was more of a tongue in cheek ode to Mr. Kade than GofG, I do believe.
Oh im sure was the best live venue the black keys have ever placed ....its a hotel lounge ,how can this be a big deal seriously .
i was there, sound was amazing and it was a ridiculous performance. imagine one of the best bands to see live playing for 200 people in a plush setting? it was sick. stop hating. the room was going nuts.
oh imagine....you haven't seen shit
