Trashing the Eldridge

It seems like the Eldridge isn't as loved by its Lower East Side neighbors as the ownership would want, since over the weekend some local ruffians had their way with the signage and gate. But do you think that a little vandalism would stop the Eldridge from dominating Eldridge Street? Hell no! According to a @jnd3001, "Apparently the destruction did not signal the end of the establishment. It was still in full douchey swing last night."

pretty sure this was just a random act of violence, and not targeted against the eldridge. not sure if the 15 year old kids who may have done this really have any idea what the eldridge is...or even that behind the facade of the eldridge bookstore is a hidden drinking den.
i'm pretty sure you mean a hidden den of douchebaggery?
ITS NOT FUNNY ...KIDS NEED A SMACK OR 2
@ TC: I agree. Young Matty Levine needs a smack or three.
Regardless of whether you like the guy or not, nobody deserves to have their business vandalized.
Yeah, when they turn me away, I just relieve myself on the doorman's ride (which, for a girl, isn't easy to do). I think it's an effective and civilized way to get the point across.
i live in the same building of eldridge and it wasn't vandalized it came down in the rain / wind, luckily no one was underneath it, funny how people are quick to think it was vandalized.
@ eldridge st: I think it was wishful thinking.....
