Does Seaside Heights Hold Nothing Sacred?

Now they've done it. Now they have really gone and done it. Seaside Heights has basically banned smoking from the beach, requiring all smokers to remain within 20 feet of the boardwalk if they want to light up. First health care reform, and now this? A day on the beach without a Parliament, Newport or Marlboro is like a day at work, and will probably mean that Seaside Heights will not get one single visitor to its gorgeous beaches from this day forward. As Audrey Silk of the Citizens Lobbying Against Smoker Harassment reasons, "it is certainly saying that Seaside Heights doesn't want my business as a smoker, and the business of the family and friends that go with me. There's no evidence to support the claim that smoking outdoors promotes a hazard from secondhand smoke. . . . This campaign is more about hate than it is about health." That's damn right! [Via]

Who would go to seaside heights anyway? Is outdoor second hand smoke as dangerous as swimming in an AXE body spray oil slick? Not to mention the visual pollution of bad tribal tattoos and full make-up wearing guidettes with their disgusting orange tans and beef-jerky skin.

Is MEATGAZER a guerilla marketer for AXE body spray? See his past comment at http://www.downbythehipster.com/blog/2009/8/11/the-hamptons-are-finished-for-the-season.html#comments

It's really not about the health issue. It's about the stench...and people who leave their butts all over the beach. Sorry to break it to you, but if smoking smelled like roses non-smokers wouldn't care if you all chained smoked yourself right into your graves. Put that in you pipe & (whoops) smoke it.

No, i just find it amusing. They named DUNE in the hamptons after a guido body spray and people talk about the place like its a sophisticated place worth reading about, waiting on line to get into, and "blogging" about. So fuck off.

Its pretty amusing that herpes-laden club idiots are walking around with a glass of poison, trying to raw-dog strangers, and they are worried about the effects of second-hand smoke.

Hey "the axe man?" - did you READ the comments you fucking dolt? The ARTICLE is about seaside heights- is axe body spray abuse not a serious problem amongst guidos?

Meatgazer - you are a meatstick who apparently forgot to take his meds (3 postings in 5 min?) But I can concur about axe body spray abuse.
