Saccomasichism

We know the 'Amy Sacco Is Over' story has been done to death. Hell, we practically perfected it over the last few years, but Gawker takes a fresh crack at it today, noting that many employees (salaried and otherwise) haven't been paid in quite some time, with noted Superstar Celebrity DJ Rafael having quit recently. So let's see:
-Nobody is getting paid at Bungalow in NYC
-Nobody knows or cares that there is even a Bungalow in London
-Her 'lifestyle consulting' ay District is... umm...
-Her 'lifestyle consulting' at Hard Rock in Vegas is... umm...
So yeah. There you have it.

On behalf of those native New Yorkers who have good taste and manners the idea of Amy Sacco Over is an impossibility a frightening thought and a preposterous notion. Like vintage wine she is enhanced over time. One of the finest and most elegant ladies I have ever met and had the pleasure to know. She continues to transcend anything that exists in this once glorious town.
Love to Amy,

Why do people always bash club owners. It is easy to bash them as they have put up a great deal of capitol and layed it on on the line. But remember without them we would not have jobs so cheers to amy sacco, nur khan, eddie dean, danny divine, noel ashman, rocco ancarolo, jason stauss, steve lewis ,richie akiva, danny a, charles ferry, niclas matur, jon b(well......maybe not him lol)

So maybe she is in an economic/professional rut...So is like 75% of the country right now! Maybe Amy will come back, maybe she won't...but she is one of the ONLY women to make a name for herself - truly- in the NYC club business...I mean other than her and Jayma (who is successful /known on a much smaller scale can ANYONE name any females who have really made an impact on nightlife?? hmmm...show the woman some respect!
I check by here every so often and sometimes find DBTH interesting and entertaining. You are at your best when you are parsing the industry, however, you and your oftentimes infantile commenters detract from what you do well with the omnipresent negativity. Admittedly, some of those you have written about deserve ridicule - there is much in NYC nightlife that is retarded/silly/stupid, and plenty of shady characters. But you appear to take glee in others' misfortune - and that is such an unattractive quality.
Say and think what you will about Amy, but she created THE single best venue in recent history in NYC - and it had a great run. In my 12+ years in NY, only one place, Rose Bar, has come close to touching the magic that was Bungalow in its glory days - despite the best (and explicitly stated) efforts to do so. The fact that so many operators still talk about B8 and note it as an example give credence to its continuing relevance and place in NYC's nightlife pantheon.
No doubt she is having a tough time these days, and she should have closed many months ago. There's nothing wrong with writing about the facts, but stop hating and give the woman some credit and due respect. For a decent period, B8 was the only game in town that mattered.
BUNGELOW 8 WAS A COPY(AND NOT AS GOOD) OF MOOMBA AND VERUKA, YOU MUST BE NEW TO NY
Moomba and Veruka did not attract the fashion creatives in the same manner of consistency and depth that B8 did. Because B8 is a smaler venue, it was able to maintain a high-quality crowd. The same cannot be said for either Moomba or Veruka, though Moomba was pretty fun in it's day. Veruka, for me, was a non-starter. The couple of times I went I was not impressed at all.
Its funny how you blog-commenting, citysearch reviewing asspipes always want to bash club owners or kick a place when they are down- as if you could ever concieve of and operate a succesful venue in NYC. Even funnier is the fact that you are the same morons who try to go to these places and wait on lines like sheep. I understand you are bored in your little, shitty cubicle- but just remember as you shuffle your papers, that you have neither the creativity or money or connections to open a place of your own. so FUCK OFF!!!
Well said "meatgazer" & old school are you from new jersey or long island?
who goes to clubs anymore, anyway? Either go pitch a model on the street and fuck her by brunch or get weird into that furtive Hanoi underground. There is no middleground. If you aren't playboy then don't pretend like you know anything about the world, because you dont. See you in Minsk, see you in Daka, see you in Gary, Indiana. Come to my fuck you party in Hvar, bring your fuck you red Ferrari or fuck off...
